Junior Desktop Support

Position Summary

CDI is looking for a well organized individual to complement our IT department. In addition to your superior communication skills and computer technical skills (Hardware/Software), previous desktop support experience is an asset.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support and maintain system software including but not limited to: MS Office, Adobe, Client first party applications, approved third party applications, etc.
  • Assist in support and maintenance of the HP Network printers and Barcode Scanners.
  • Provide Helpdesk support and monitoring of any requests/ issues submitted via internal Helpdesk ticketing.
  • Participating in the maintenance of a knowledge base of problems and solutions.
  • Have an understanding of how to remotely access and manage enduser systems on a domain network.
  • Interfacing with end users on support issues in a professional manner and respond to use demands in a specified time period.

Education and/or Experience

  • 2-3 years Desktop/ Helpdesk experience supporting up to 200 users in a windows enviroment.
  • Knowledge of: imaging systems (such as Ghost and Powerguest), anti-virus systems, Outlook/ Exchange, VPN and wireless
  • Experience troubleshooting basic network, software, printing problems.
  • Ability to work independendtly, as well as, in a team enviroment.
  • Certifications such as A+ and Network+MCSE will be an asset.

Test & Audit Technician

Position Summary

C.D.I is looking for an individual with a strong technical background to start up a Quality Control Department within the technical services area. This individual must have an in-depth knowledge of tier one computer hardware to ensure quality and perform a diagnosis of hardware received by visual inspection and testing functionality of product and report findings. Configure products as necessary to meet order specifications and installation of software. This person must also have the analytical and problem solving skills to improve the overall function of the Technical Services Area.
 

Education and/or Experience

This individual should have one to three years experience working with computer hardware and software with A+ Certification. In addition you will have superior analytical skills, ability to work in a team environment and good written and verbal skills. If you possess most or all of these qualifications you may be the person for the job.
 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receive product and perform visual checks to determine physical condition of product and verify accessories (cables etc.) are in working order
  • Record images of physical damages in order to back up reporting making certain labels are being tracked
  • Perform diagnostics on servers and ensure proper functionality
    Test components on all systems, including CD-Rom, floppy drive, hard drive, video card, sound card and modem and ensure proper working order
  • Replace or reconfigure any damaged or malfunctioning components or hardware
  • Configure machines in order to meet specifications of clients as per sales orders, verifying that correct upgrade SKU and quantity has been entered
  • Check drivers on the unit for conflicts or errors
  • Enter correct configuration of machine into JDH (part number, serial number, model number) to allow for proper reporting and tracking paying special attention to accuracy
  • Close lot once all hardware has been Test and Audited ensuring all necessary changes are made and lot closure message is included
